My Story

Three months ago, Tom attended a health and metabolism seminar through the Albany Medical Bariatric Program. The Bariatric Program requires healthy lifestyle education and weight loss progress prior to gastric bypass surgery. Following the seminar, which is led by Korey every Thursday, Tom was inspired to make positive changes in his life. He scheduled a wellness consultation with our professional staff, and decided to execute our recommendations of Optimal Support (meeting with a fitness professional two times per week). Tom recently completed a seven-week reassessment, he feels better, has more energy, severe sleep apnea is gone, and his blood pressure is beginning to lower. Here are some impressive results from the reassessment:

Assessment
7/31/09
9/25/09
Body Weight
322 lbs.
307 lbs.

15:39 minutes

Tom is so pleased with these health and fitness improvements, he is now incorporating healthy eating support through Brianna’s 12-week support program. Supporting healthy eating and active living is our sole focus at Plaza Fitness. Call us at 482-2266 and let us help you achieve your goals.

Professional Staff Continuing Education

Our professional staff recently attended seminars to advance our knowledge and improve the value of personal training sessions. The first seminar covered Metabolically Optimal Training, which is a specialized training sequence that incorporates intense individualized intervals, a series of high-intensity, short duration exercises interspersed with brief periods of lower-intensity movement and recovery. This cutting-edge system optimally stimulates muscle metabolism and the cardiovascular system in order to reduce subcutaneous body fat and total body weight reduction as quickly as possible. Simply put: Maximize fitness results with less time investment. Due to the intensity of this training approach, Metabolically Optimal Training is not for everyone. Talk to our professional staff today to see if this type of training is right for you.

The second seminar emphasized assisting clients who desire weight loss success. General nutrition support is now offered through your personal trainer and comprehensive nutrition support is available through our holistic health and nutrition counselor, Brianna. Now your personal trainer will:

• Calculate the specific calories per day needed to achieve proper weight loss based upon your basal metabolic and active metabolic rates
• Share nutrition tips that are easy, but extremely effective
• Present insightful educationals on portions and meal structure
• Give versatile whole foods recipes

This proactive approach toward developing optimal eating habits will also provide clients the opportunity to work with Brianna, our Holistic Nutrition Counselor, if more personalized support is needed. Here is a list of red flags that may justify comprehensive nutrition support:

• You are not making satisfactory progress toward your weight loss goals
• You have emotional eating issues and cravings
• You have a medical condition that requires a more personalized nutrition approach
• You have aggressive weight loss desires
• You are requesting an individualized meal plan
• You are interested in determining your unique nutrition deficiencies through lab analysis

Jurojin

Clients and fitness professionals alike agree that remaining motivated represents the most significant barrier to maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. If there is nothing to strive for, even the most well intended fitness goals can easily fall to the wayside. Plaza Fitness is committed to giving clients a system that will not only encourage fitness goals, but will also inspire clients to reach for life’s ultimate fortune: Longevity. Plaza Fitness is pleased to announce the Jurojin Motivation and Longevity Program.

What is Jurojin?
According to Taoist beliefs, Jurojin is considered to be the God of Longevity, an inspiring figure for a longevity program.

How does the program work?
The Jurojin Motivation and Longevity Program dramatically enhances the participant’s motivational drive through ten comprehensive health assessments, or standards. These standards result in a rating that encourages gradual improvement in the participant’s health, fitness, and longevity over time. These standards include biometric disease markers, cardiorespiratory endurance, anaerobic power, joint mobility, isometric muscle endurance, and core stability.
Talk to our professional staff today to see if Jurojin is right for you.

Note: Always discuss any assessment or changes within your exercise routine with your primary care physician.

Your Feedback is Valued!
If we can make your experience at Plaza Fitness better, please do not hesitate to provide our staff with feedback or suggestions.  Thank you for supporting our efforts to help others lead a healthy and active lifestyle.
