UPDATING JANUARY ARTICLE

Ann’s success story from the January issue of the e-newsletter deserves some clarification. While she is a believer in whole natural foods, the “Take Shape For Life” and “Medifast” food products are what Ann used to jump start and maintain her weight loss.

PERSONAL TRAINING SUCCESS STORY

Talk about a tight timeline...Cheryl joined us in October in order to increase her strength and endurance for her very first 100+ mile century bike ride for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in November. It takes a lot of work to make the kind of progress Cheryl wanted in just a month’s time, but she and we all buckled down and did it! With Stephanie and Chris teaming up to provide twice-weekly guidance, Cheryl made terrific gains and excitedly completed her ride to the cheers of her family and friends!

We reviewed her assessments in October and again in December, a month after her big ride, and found: Weight decreased 10 lbs.; body fat composition down from 27.98% to 21.3%; muscular endurance in her upper and lower body and core strength parameters increased between three and five-fold; and, crucial functional movement screening for the deep squat and rotational stability patterns went from the lowest score to the most optimal score. Cheryl incorporated Take Shape For Life into her program.

If you’ve got a meaningful goal, but you need a helping hand with the tools you need to reach it, let us know. Call 482-2266 and set up an appointment with one of our fitness professionals.

ALL NEW PILATES SCHEDULE

Pilates is very effective for building stability, muscle balance, postural alignment, and core strength. Small group sessions are a great way to get into the Pilates method, with plenty of individual attention in a more social environment.

Karen Mosley, one of our Pilates leaders, has put together a new schedule. You can join a 6-week long small group (up to 4 people) Pilates session on Mondays at either 12 noon or 6:00pm, Wednesdays at 8:00 am or 9:00 am or 5:00 pm, or Fridays at 9:00 am or 12 noon. As soon as we have enough individuals signed up, the sessions can begin!

Individual sessions are also available. Please call us at 482-2266 to schedule your sessions.

NEW FACES ON THE TEAM

Our staff is growing again, and you’ll want to help us in welcoming Lindsay and Chad.

Lindsay Wagner recently relocated to the Albany area from Syracuse, where she worked for LA Weight Loss. Lindsay earned her degrees in Athletic Training and Psychology from the University of Pittsburg at Bradford, and she has been motivated to move into the fitness profession by her profound appreciation for the workings of the human body. She has a personal trainer certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.

Chad Raymond comes to our team with a long history of healthy activity, experience as a Boot Camp Challenge instructor, and a certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is also a long-time employee of Momentive Performance Materials (formerly GE Silicones) in Waterford.

Both Chad and Lindsay are now engaged in our trainer-in-training program and they are looking forward to providing you with the guidance, motivation, and results you deserve!
