PERSONAL
TRAINING SUCCESS STORY Kyle started Vivien’s training program with the Functional Movement Screening, which measures a series of upper and lower body and core movements to reveal muscular imbalances or weaknesses. They were able to detect significant limitations around Vivien’s hips and shoulders at that time, as well as an overall tightness on the left side of her body. With this information in hand, corrective exercises were integrated into Vivian’s overall muscle strengthening routine. In just six weeks of training, Vivien increased her overall score on the Functional Movement Screening by 5 points, and made dramatic improvements in her upper and lower body balance and strength. We are looking forward to hearing from her at the end of July, when she returns from her family vacation, to find out if it’s any easier to heft the luggage and saw the wood! Call 482-2266 and arrange an appointment to begin to change your life and health for the better, with a training session with one of our fitness professionals. THE
"BUTT" STOPS HERE RESULTS WITH MAT PILATES TRAINING Jane Hawksley Ogle and Tina Koehler are certified Mat Pilates specialists at Plaza Fitness, and are joined by Jamien Cvjetnicanin who holds Pilates Mat and Reformer certifications. Personal Pilates training with Tina, Jane, or Jamien will transform the focus of your workouts and condition your body in ways you will feel in the way you carry yourself every day. There have been a lot of interesting results attributed to Pilates, such as the encouragement of longer, leaner muscles. Pilates does promote the growth of lean muscle mass, similar to other resistive exercise methods. Whether it can make your muscles appear longer is a matter for your genes to decide. But there is no doubt that the concentrated effort and core emphasis of Pilates enhances your strength, mobility, and posture. Focusing on your breath, your position in space, and your sensation within your body makes Pilates a mindful movement that can help you maintain calm even during intense efforts. Your shoulder stability, spinal stability, and pelvic stability will all increase with regular Pilates training. Give us a call at 482-2266 to take your turn at Pilates training!
