MOVE TO LIVE NOVEMBER

Halloween is a scary holiday for a lot of people because it seems to mark the start of a season of excessive eating and weight gain. This year can be different if you take charge of your habits and your health, with your own two hands and a little help from our Move to Live program! Beginning Wednesday, November 1st at 7:30 pm, Move to Live meets each Wednesday night at that time through November 29th (except November 22nd). Even if you feel you already know what you should do, Move to Live will keep you on track with accountability and healthy inspiration! This program is complimentary for members, and also for non-members who have a physician referral. Forms are available at www.plazafitness.net. Call us at 482-2266 to register.

PURSUING THE POWER OF PERSONAL TRAINING

Our growing team of fitness professionals is allowing us to make a remarkable difference in even more people’s lives. You’ll be seeing more of Stephanie Buono, the newest member of the Plaza Fitness team of fitness professionals, so please join us in helping her feel welcome. Stephanie has recently completed an internship at the renowned Canyon Ranch and is a recent exercise science graduate of Springfield College. It’s likely that you’ll be seeing more new faces joining the Plaza Fitness team in the next few weeks, helping to make us (and you!) stronger and more capable of doing all the great activities we want for you here.

Right from our start three years ago (that’s right, our 3rd anniversary is November 2nd!) we set out to become a specialized personal training facility, and we have tried to share our training expertise with every one of our members. The growth of our personal training activity demonstrates the powerfully positive results our clients are getting in terms of better health and performance. Clients use words like “miraculous" and “amazing” to describe the changes they are feeling in their bodies and spirits (honestly, these are their words, not ours)! We know there’s no miracle at work here, it’s the combination of the consistent application of our research-based recommendations, our support and motivation, and our member’s commitment to work hard at each and every session. Please ask at the front desk for an appointment with one of our training professionals if you need some guidance to get results.

TAI CHI GROUP TRAINING AND MORE GROUP EXERCISE

Tai Chi Group Training will return to our schedule Thursdays at 5:30 pm beginning November 2nd. Tai Chi’s benefits are many, and recent research bears out even more: improved balance, coordination, range of motion, cardiovascular conditioning, and stress control. Your leader, Lorraine Noval, will focus on a series of postures particularly beneficial for arthritis, increasing the comfort and fluidity of your joints. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Our 8-week group training sessions are conducted in small groups, with the hands-on guidance you love about personal training, bolstered by results you can really feel. The ideal number of pre-registered participants for the program is six. Please call 482-2266 now to register for Tai Chi.

Also, we’re adding a new Cycling class on Thursdays at 6:30 pm beginning after the Thanksgiving holiday, on November 30th. Cycling leader Lisa Vince will give you a great ride…and check out Kristin DeGroat’s terrific Nia class on Wednesdays at 6:20 pm for another outstanding cardio-vascular workout option.

HOLIDAY CLOSING

The holiday season is almost here (and don’t forget clocks fall back an hour on October 29th), so plan your workouts accordingly! We will be closed on Thursday, November 23rd for Thanksgiving, and return to regular hours on Friday, November 24th at 6:00 am. We look forward to helping you stay active throughout these holiday months.

MEMBER CHECK-IN

Unfortunately, the finger scan process did not live up to our expectations. Membership cards have been ordered for everyone and should arrive around November 6th. Please use the membership cards to check-in once you receive one. We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience during this transition.
