HAPPY, HEALTHY NEW YOU

Will this be the year that you get your fitness efforts off to a strong start, with expert guidance and motivation? Invest in a happy, healthy new you by working with our personal trainers. We can help by assessing your starting abilities, reaching for your goals, keeping you accountable for your healthy habits, and tracking your results. Ask any of our staff for more information on setting up your training program.

GROUP EXERCISE SPOTLIGHT

Our new Balance Ball session is a great way to get started learning about the versatility of the stability ball for your resistance, core, and balance workouts. Nola Royce, your Balance Ball leader, has an accomplished background in cycling, mountain climbing, and other outdoor athletic pursuits. Look for Nola’s class out on the fitness floor on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm, welcoming you to join the group for balance, strength, and abdominal training with precise instruction designed to improve your body alignment and muscular performance.

Get excited, early risers! A dynamic new cycling class begins on January 10th at 6:30 am, so you can start your Tuesdays with an invigorating ride. Nancy Welsh is an accomplished rider and she’ll be leading the early morning cycle class. We know our dedicated morning exercisers have been looking forward to an early cardio class, and we’re delighted to have Nancy join us and make it happen! Check out the entire new group exercise schedule.

NEW FILING SYSTEM

We know how much exercise you’ve been getting just pulling your workout folder out of the filing area. Well, we’re going to have to show you a new shoulder exercise because your file wrestling days are over! Not only do we have a roomy new filing area, but we have also updated every member’s folder and organized the system to reflect FitTrax, Activtrax, and Personal Training program participation. We hope you enjoy using our tidy new system, and we thank you for your patience during this transition.

PERSONAL TRAINING SUCCESS STORY

Gary has enjoyed great progress in his strength, stamina, stability, and flexibility since starting his personal training with Korey and Kyle in the summer. He plays golf and tennis in the warm weather, and skis all winter. Gary’s leg press strength has grown from 180 lbs. to 260 lbs., his exercising heart rate response is lower and more efficient, and since he began using a foam roller his bi-lateral shoulder flexibility and overall muscle pliability are measurably improved. Left turns on skis, which were always more difficult for him, have finally become much easier.

“In terms of my skiing, I can see a difference there. It’s much easier skiing: I have more strength, more flexibility, and more endurance. I came here for strength and cardio, but as tight as I am, I’ve gotten much more flexible.” -- Gary

NEW EQUIPMENT COMING SOON

You’ll soon see an innovative new machine on the Plaza Fitness floor, one machine that does the work of two. The Freemotion Dual Cable Cross machine features independently rotating arms that move vertically and horizontally for precise positioning for virtually any movement pattern. With two independent 75 lb. weight stacks, two people can work out simultaneously so members can get through their workouts quicker. The rotating arms move with 12 vertical and 9 horizontal settings to accommodate virtually any movement pattern, making the Dual Cable Cross ideal for functional and sport-specific training. The Dual Cable Cross is also compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act for wheelchair accessibility.

We will be rearranging our current weight machines to accommodate the new Dual Cable Cross, and we think you will find the new layout is a change for the better. We are looking forward to providing you with this new, leading edge option for building your fitness.

JANUARY MOVE TO LIVE

“I became motivated to do something I should have been doing all along. The use of the equipment and the instruction was a large factor in that.” - David

Wednesday January 4th will mark the beginning of our next Move to Live program, and if you’re like David it could be the start of great benefits for you. David has lost 8 ½ pounds in 3 weeks, and maintains 4 to 5 days a week of healthy activity in the fitness center...even during the holiday week! Learn how you, too, can change your life for the better through activity and healthy eating.

The Move To Live program begins every first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm. This program is absolutely free for both members and non-members with physician referral (forms are available at www.plazafitness.net). Call us at 482-2266 to register.
