Fitness represents Korey's vision of a specialized personal training
center emphasizing members' optimal health. Prior to operating Plaza
Fitness at Stuyvesant Plaza he provided personal training services
to a diverse clientele and developed corporate fitness programs
such as Plaza Fitness at 80 State Street. He also served as Assistant
Director, Fitness/Wellness at Indiana University in Bloomington,
operated his own personal training business, and interned within
a cardiac rehabilitation program at St. Peter's Hospital in Olympia,
Washington.

Jane
Hawksley Ogle previously owned a personal and group fitness training
and consulting firm, which she established in 1993. She has over
20 years experience teaching group fitness, and for over 17 years
has trained with individuals and organizations and health clubs
around the Capital District, and has also managed facilities and
staff. Ogle is a member of IDEA, the International Association of
Fitness Professionals, and is certified as a personal trainer by
the American Council on Exercise. She is also Pilates Mat certified
and a certified Schwinn Indoor Cycling instructor. While she specializes
in running and cycling training, Ogle has trained people all along
the physical conditioning spectrum, from teens to octogenarians
and from wheelchair users to elite athletes. Her other active memberships
include the Chamber of Commerce in Guilderland, the Hudson Mohawk
Road Runners’ Club, Team Utopia (a local running team), USA
Track and Field, and the Professional Women’s Network. Also
a freelance writer, Ogle has contributed to Capital District Business
Review, IDEA Personal Trainer magazine, and Glens Falls Business
Journal. She is a University at Albany graduate and resides in Schenectady.
She also sings in a dance band. |

Before
Kyle joined the Plaza Fitness team in 2003 he was an independent
fitness consultant for 7 years. With 12 years of total training
experience Kyle has a well rounded progressive approach to fitness
training. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical
Education with a concentration in Athletic Training to launch his
lifelong commitment to a healthy lifestyle. In 1997 he was certified
as a personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine
and in 2002 he was certified by the C.H.E.K. Institute in San Diego
as a Golf Biomechanic. He is recognized by IDEA, the International
Association of Fitness Professionals as an elite level trainer.
Kyle has worked with a spectrum of clients from those with special
needs all the way to elite level athletes. He has gained additional
insight into the value of core, stabilization and muscle balance
training for the sedentary population through his working relationships
with several area chiropractors and his continuing education coursework.
Kyle pursues an active lifestyle away from Plaza Fitness at Stuyvesant
Plaza as well. He is currently training to qualify for the Empire
State Games as a XC skier and loves to bicycle with his wife Lynn.
Besides his athletic pursuits Kyle and Lynn derive much satisfaction
from re-enacting 18th century life as living historians. He and
Lynn volunteer at the Saratoga Battlefield by leading guided bicycle
tours of the park as well as give school presentations and attend
numerous 18th century re-enactments. He also plays the fife.

Stephanie
is a 2006 graduate from Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Applied Exercise Science. Following her senior year of
college, she was a wellness intern at the renowned Canyon Ranch
in the Berkshires. While at Canyon Ranch Stephanie promoted events,
observed medical treatments, gathered research for the exercise
physiology department, and most importantly inspired others to lead
a healthy lifestyle. She is certified by NSCA as a strength &
conditioning specialist. Along with a passion for health and wellness,
Stephanie has been dancing since the age of four.

Jason’s
passion for sport and interests in the human body encouraged him
to continue his education after high school and pursue a career
in the health and fitness industry. After successfully completing
courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Biomechanics and a number of
fitness related classes, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree
in Physical Education and a concentration area of study in Sport
Management from the State University of New York College at Cortland
in 1999. Following graduation, he has had the opportunity to apply
his knowledge and attain valuable work experience as a professional
for the YMCA and the Department of Physical Education at the United
States Military Academy at West Point. To stay on the cutting edge
of the fitness industry, Jason received nationally recognized fitness
certifications from the APEX Fitness Group and Aerobics and Fitness
Association of America and continues to refine his technical skills
and expertise in the areas of weight loss, muscular strength and
endurance conditioning and sport specific functional exercise. He
also enjoys spending some of his free time volunteering as an emergency
medical technician (EMT) for the residents of the state of New York. |

team looking to help you achieve a healthy lifestyle. |

James
brings the extensive professional fitness expertise that comes with
owning and operating his own personal training business. James completed
a Bachelor of Science degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University
Physical Education-Teacher Education Program with concentrations
in exercise science and athletic training. He also holds an Associates
Degree in Physical Education from Hudson Valley Community College.
James completed a 2000 hour internship at Florida Atlantic University
in athletic training and strength and conditioning.
Fitness
education is a particular focus. James' many interests include antiques,
collectibles, classic cars, coins, comics, fishing, forestry, sports,
and cooking.

Bryan
will be spending time at both our 80 State Street and Stuyvesant
Plaza locations. With a bachelor’s in Kinesiology from SUNY
Cortland and personal training, cycling, and golf conditioning certifications,
Bryan is looking forward to putting his educations to work in our
professional, optimal health-oriented environment. His previous
experience includes the YMCA and Health Fitness Corporation. Bryan
is currently pursuing his MS in Exercise Science and Health Promotion
online through the California University of Pennsylvania.
In his spare time, Bryan enjoys mountain biking, running, racquetball,
and rooting for the New York Jets. |
Heather
Kenneally , Gyrotonic Movement Therapist

Heather
has been working with Gyrotonic, dance, and massage for over a decade
in New York City. Heather has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from
the Boston Conservatory, and an Associates in Occupational Studies
in Massage Therapy from the Swedish Institute in New York City.
She studied Gyrotonic exclusively with Julio Horvath, the originator
of Gyrotonic, since 1995. Since moving to the Capital Region three
years ago, Heather has been a part-time movement therapist at Canyon
Ranch Spa in the Berkshires and has been on the faculty at the Center
for Natural Wellness School of Massage. Heather is excited to join
the wonderful team of professionals at Plaza Fitness because of
their philosophy toward exercise and health, and the progressive
integration of mind/body wellness.

Laurie
Shaw , Yoga Movement Therapist

Laurie
Shaw has been a Cognitive Therapist in private practice for 20 years.
Laurie overcame a serious injury through her yoga practice, which
she began 17 years ago, and started teaching yoga independently
7 years ago. Laurie received her yoga certification from the Kripalu
Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts, the largest
yoga center in the United States offering a variety of programs
in yoga, health, and spirituality. Laurie is also a member of the
Kripalu Yoga Teacher's Association, an active network of members
living and teaching the heart and depth of yoga.

Hannah
Hanlon , Gyrotonic

Passionate
about her profession as a massage therapist, Hannah has found that
her role as a health educator for her clients is just as important
as the bodywork she provides. Led by curiosity and a personal motivation
for a lifestyle change, she explored body/mind movement disciplines
and fell in love with Gyrotonic the first time she was ever on the
apparatus. Hannah believes that the body-mind awareness as well
as the stretching and strengthening effects of Gyrotonic can create
deep and positive benefits for those seeking a conscious and balanced
lifestyle in our culture of speed.
Hannah
trained as a Gyrotonic Instructor with master trainers Kathy Van
Patten in Boston and Jennifer McCasland-Daly of New York City. She
received her massage training in Seattle, WA in 1990. Hannah has
been an instructor at West Coast massage schools and currently teaches
at the Center for Natural Wellness in Colonie. She and her husband
provide advanced massage and allied health trainings internationally
through their company Lymphatic Health Education Resources. Hannah
also owns massage practices in Colonie and Amsterdam as well as
a Gyrotonic studio in Amsterdam. In addition to her private practice,
Hannah has provided massage at the Lake Placid Ironman and the 2000
Sydney Olympics. She also currently works with the West Point Men’s
and Women’s swim teams.

Karen
is a full-time Pilates specialist, leading both apparatus- and mat-based
exercise. In her previous professional life, while living and working
in Washington DC, Karen was a certified and licensed massage therapist
and a personal trainer. Here in the Capital Region she spent several
years as a Group Exercise Director and personal trainer. Karen is
Power Pilates Mat certified, and is certified by the American College
of Sports Medicine/Health-Fitness Instructor. She also has a Personal
Trainer certification from the American Council on Exercise and
a Group Exercise certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association
of America. Karen and her dog enjoy running and jumping, even in
the snow. |

Graduate of The Institute for Integrative Nutrition
Brianna
received her training and certification to practice Holistic Health
and Nutrition Counseling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition,
which is the only wellness/nutrition school integrating all the
different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional
philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the
glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods. Through the Institute for
Integrative Nutrition she also received her certificate from Teachers
College of Colombia University. Brianna decided to pursue this amazing
career after experiencing a significant health transformation from
embracing a healthy lifestyle. Brianna's goals as a counselor are
for her clients to find the power and love within themselves to
take control of their lives, and to gain the confidence and the
knowledge they need to achieve optimal health. |
